Jackson....doesn't that sound like a grand Southern gentleman? What a perfect name for the latest 'gentlebassetman' to come to NTBHR. Jackson has been shuffled in and out of a couple of homes over the past year. First, a roommate moved out and left him behind. Then a family got evicted from their home and had to take Jackson to the local animal shelter. This gentle-giant seems to have taken it all in stride. He still has lots of love to share and a desire to please.

Foster Update: What an absolute love! When Jackson arrived, his nails were beginning to turn under and head for the pads of his paws and he was filthy. Jackson now has had a bath, his ears are nicely cleaned, and his nails are trim and neat. He absolutely loved being groomed! He followed me around thanking me again and again for making him feel arrroooo good! His gums and teeth are in very bad condition. He'll be going in for a dental cleaning soon and he may lose a few. Jackson is extremely well-behaved. That’s the wonderful thing about more mature Bassets. He’s crate-trained, house broken, good with other dogs, cats, and children, no counter surfing, and no aggression of any kind. He would do well in any environment. A quiet one though would probably be best for this mature gentleman. All he wants is a stable home and love. Are you the home he needs? If so, Jackson is patiently waiting…
