"BASIC TRAINING 101"

Basic training for you Basset Hound is essential.  A well trained well socialized dog is a happy dog, not to mention your shoes, glasses, remote, etc. are safer!  All dogs should go through a basic obedience course.  This ensures that your dog knows the basic commands and is well behaved in public.  A well behaved dog is one you can take to the dog park or outdoor events without worry or embarrassment.  More fun for you and your dog!  The recall, or “Come” command is especially important for your dog to learn.

If your dog gets out of your yard or slips their collar a strong recall can save your dog from getting lost or hit by a car.  If you have success with your training you can advance and get a obedience title or a rally title.  Both are great fun for you and your dog.  If you are interested in advanced obedience or beginning obedience see available classes on our website.  If you have behavioral issues with your dog a behaviorist is the way to go.  NTBHR works with a great trainer/behaviorist and can help you with many issues.
