Howdy! My name is Hickory. I’m a big boned basset fella looking for my furever home. I’ve trained my foster mom to give the BEST belly rubs.  When she first picked me up from the vet I flopped over on her feet to show to show her I was ready for an introductory rub and I’ve been teaching her how to do it better and better! I can teach you too!

I definitely need lots of beauty sleep to keep up this massively gorgeous physique! Luckily I can make myself comfortable just about anywhere.

I’m a good boy and my foster mom  doesn’t fuss at me too much. I don’t bark unless I’m playing, but she says I sound like an antique car horn).  I’ve made friends with the kitties. I love my other K9 roommates and there were even some kids here that I LOVED to play with. (They gave the best snuggles!). She does put me in my crate when she’s gone because I get a little sad I got left behind and like to let her know by piddling on a rug... I’ve never had a dog door, but I think I might like to try one. I don’t mind my crate, though, I like to run in there and get my treat and take a nap!

Sometimes my belly gets itchy depending what’s blowing around in this Texas air, but a couple of daily Zyrtec or prescription apoquel fixes me up just fine so I can go back to napping.

I’d like to teach you how to give amazing belly rubs (bet you can outdo my foster mom over time!) and some of my favorite beauty sleep poses. Let the NTBHR group you’d like to meet me and my foster mom will bring me for a visit! I LOOOOOVE car rides! Great time for a nap!
