Basset Friends Forever NTBHR is only able to save the lives of deserving Basset Hounds BECAUSE OF YOU! As a supporter and donor, you are making a commitment to partner with us saving the lives of hundreds of homeless Basset Hounds. YOU make it all happen! Please consider membership in our BFF Program, Basset Friends Forever . Your participation will assure that the level of care we provide to our dogs remains high, and that we are able to do all that is necessary to make their lives whole again. Our adoption fees only cover about 25% of the average medical expenses incurred for our dogs. That’s because we do more than the minimum of care for the dogs in our care. We work with about 10 area veterinarians who provide discounted services, but they are not free. Our average expense on any given dog is nearly $950. The average adoption fee is $250. We do not board our dogs. While we may temporarily hold a dog at one of our vets to prevent euthanasia at a shelter, we insist that our dogs be in families homes where they can receive proper care, evaluation, and training when necessary. This cannot be achieved in a boarding facility. Therefore, you can be assured that your donations go directly to the medical treatment of the dogs.
